LIZZIE BARKER

Lizzie Barker studied Violin at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and has since worked as a violinist in London, across the UK and abroad.

 

She has played with the Bournemouth Symphony,  the Royal Philharmonic and BBC Symphony Orchestras, English National Ballet, West End shows (including over 300 of the show Wicked!), recording sessions and for stars such as Barbra Streisand and Vanessa Mae. 

 

Lizzie has played for events at the Houses of Parliament, London Ritz & Hilton Hotels and Lords Cricket Ground. 

 

Now living near Leicester, Lizzie has launched herself as a Solo performer for weddings and events across the Midlands and beyond. Whether Classical, Pop, Jazz, Disney or Bollywood, Lizzie plays music of many genres, nearly always from memory, and has a wide and varied Song list - see here.  

 

Lizzie aims to share the music she loves in many areas of the community.  She is particularly interested in the benefits of music for older people and those with dementia and gives performances at local care homes. Lizzie has 3 young children and also teaches violin and piano at Leicester Grammar School one day a week. Lizzie's husband is Saxophonist John Barker.
